Eco hosting: compare plans and evidence
All our plans are optimized for WordPress and participate in our one year, one tree program. Cedar adds more resources and a data center powered by 100% renewable electricity. Each layer, with its own evidence.
Your hosting provider is also listed in the sustainability report
If your company prepares a sustainability report or receives a questionnaire from a client, knowing your digital suppliers helps. We provide you with the location, available energy evidence, and estimates with their methodology.
Web hosting falls under the Scope 3 Category 1 of the GHG protocol (purchased goods and services). Choosing verified renewable infrastructure not only reduces the actual footprint but also generates auditable documentation for the ESG report and protects against the Green Claims Directive.
The CSRD does not require all SMEs: its scope and timeline have changed. Our documentation can support your reporting; the obligation and accounting treatment depend on your company. Check our evidence and limits.
Category 1 of the GHG protocol
Hosting is a purchased service. If it emits carbon, it is part of the corporate footprint of the one who contracts it.
GHG Protocol · Cat. 1CO₂ per GB transferred (sector average)
The footprint of a visit depends on the weight of the page, the infrastructure, and the assumptions of the model. Explore the estimation of your website.
Average PUE of the Cedro operator
Average PUE published by the infrastructure operator: 1.12. Annual measurement according to DIN EN 50600-4-2; it is not an individual measurement of your website.
Two levels of green.
Two levels of commitment.
Not all green hosting is the same. Here’s what each level means exactly.
Green Distribution
Optimized green at the distribution layer
- The Cloudflare CDN that serves your website operates on renewable energy (verified by Green Web Foundation since 2018).
- Most of the traffic comes from green edge nodes.
- Real reduction of the digital distribution footprint of the site.
- Mentionable in sustainability reports with evidence from the CDN.
Cedar: documented origin
100% renewable electricity in the Cedar data center
- Cedar Server in Falkenstein, Germany: data center with 100% documented renewable electricity supply.
- Verified by Green Web Foundation, auditable public registry.
- Center included in the operator's EMAS environmental management system. Operator's average PUE: 1.12, published in June 2026.
- 1 tree planted per year in your name, verified by Tree Nation.
- Infrastructure documentation and estimates to support your sustainability reporting.
Cedro documents the electricity of the origin data center. When Cloudflare is active, its energy information corresponds to the distribution. They are different scopes.Get to know Cedro and its resources..
How to compare eco hosting for WordPress
Compare website resources separately from environmental evidence. Sauce, Roble and Cedro offer different resources and coverage: check storage, limits, backups, support and location before choosing.
Data centre electricity, CDN distribution and reforestation describe different parts of the service. Read our energy policy and evidence scope and infrastructure information. Planting a tree does not by itself make a website carbon neutral.

A small leaf.
The story of your website.
Your website can display the Replanta seal in its footer. By clicking it, your visitors learn where it is hosted and how many trees are registered with its service.
- WordPress on all plans.Willow, Oak, and Cedar are optimized for WordPress.
- One year, one tree. One planting per plan for each year of active service.
- Your domain data. Location, registered trees, and Cloudflare information when its use is detected.
- More resources with Cedro. 4 GB of RAM and reporting panel to support your sustainability reports.
The sources behind our data
Nothing that we cannot document. Each commitment is verified by an independent external entity.
Can I use Replanta as evidence in my sustainability report?
Yes. Cedro provides documentation on the location and electrical supply of your data center, along with estimates and its methodology. They are supporting data: hiring the plan does not certify your report nor automatically allows you to deduct avoided emissions from your inventory.
When your domain uses Cloudflare, you can also check the energy information published by the CDN. That evidence describes the distribution, not the electricity from the origin server or the complete footprint of your website.
Choose Cedar if you need to document the renewable origin of the server. View plan.
Verify the URL of Green Web Foundation with your domain, available at the moment.
Includes the public verification URL as evidence in the annex of your ESG report. Check our energy policy for all documentation.
CSRD, Scope 3 and green hosting
The most common questions from compliance teams, management, and ESG officers.
The CSRD regulates the sustainability reporting of companies included in its scope. The requirements and deadlines depend on the current regulations and each entity. A digital provider can provide data for the report; hosting alone does not guarantee compliance.
The classification of a hosting service in the emissions inventory depends on the perimeter and methodology of the company. We provide information on infrastructure and estimates identified as such. Your reporting officer must decide how to use them, without discounting tree planting from the calculated emissions.
Sauce and Oak offer WordPress hosting in the UK or the US; we do not attribute 100% renewable electricity to those servers. Cedar hosts your website in Falkenstein, Germany, with 100% documented renewable electricity for the data center. Cloudflare, when active, adds a distribution layer with its own energy information.
You can check our evidence in the energy policy and the confirmed trees from your service under the Replanta seal. The verification of a provider in the Green Web Foundation, the EMAS system, and the registration of a plantation certify different aspects; none certifies the complete footprint of your website on its own.
All plans are optimized for WordPress. Cedro adds resources for demanding stores and projects. The average PUE of 1.12 published by the operator describes the efficiency of its infrastructure; the performance of your website also depends on the code, cache, traffic, and allocated resources.
We plant a tree for every year of service completed and paid. We present it as a contribution to reforestation, not as a carbon equivalence or proof of neutrality. For Cedro, we document the renewable electricity of the data center; emission estimates maintain their limits and methodology.
