Yes, with nuances depending on the plan. The CSRD requires verifiable evidence, not statements. With Green Distribution you can document that the digital distribution of your website uses edge nodes with renewable energy, applicable to product use emissions (Scope 3 Cat. 11).

It includes emissions of Scope 3 (those generated by suppliers and the value chain), which makes web hosting a data point to declare. Hosting mainly falls into the Category 1 of Scope 3 of the GHG protocol (purchased goods and services). If your website receives traffic from users, it can also be included in the Category 11 (use of sold products), according to the business model. Green Distribution (Sauce and Oak): the distribution layer (the Cloudflare CDN that serves your website to the end user) operates with renewable energy. The origin server uses shared infrastructure without individual origin certification. Green Origin (Cedro): the physical server where your website resides is in Falkenstein (EU) and operates at 100 % with certified hydroelectric power, verified by Green Web Foundation and with EMAS certified datacenter. It is the level that allows documenting the origin in complete CSRD reports.
With the Cedro plan (Green Origin), your domain appears in the public registry of Green Web Foundation, which you can link as external evidence in any report ESG or audit. Additionally, you receive the Tree Nation certificate for the planted tree, with geolocation and traceability. The datacenter has public EMAS certification and PUE audited by TÜV SÜD. All documents are valid as evidence under the GHG Protocol methodology.
Not negatively. The Falkenstein data center that uses Cedro is designed for high energy efficiency (PUE 1.12 audited by TÜV SÜD), which also implies modern hardware and low latency. Combined with the OpenLiteSpeed + Redis + Cloudflare stack, performance is comparable or superior to conventional hosting. Sustainability and speed are not opposing goals in our infrastructure.
