It's not a slogan — it's engineering

An efficient website
is a sustainable site

The Internet already consumes around 4% of the world's electricity and generates more CO₂ emissions than the entire airline industry. Every time someone visits a website, servers are activated, megabytes are transmitted, and content is rendered on millions of devices. The result of all those operations has a real cost: energy and economic.

The average conventional web page exceeds 2.5 MB in size — oversized images, CSS frameworks that load 400 lines to style 4 elements, plugins that inject 20 scripts to create a dropdown menu. That excess slows down loading, penalizes SEO, and consumes unnecessary energy.

At Replanta we adopt the opposite principle: fewer bytes, more intention. Every resource that enters our page has to earn its place. The result does not sacrifice design or functionality — performance constraints force a clearer, more direct, more effective design.

We add the infrastructure layer: hosting on servers with 100% renewable energy, LiteSpeed as the web server, Redis for object caching and Cloudflare global CDN — because the optimization work does not end in the code.

"Sustainable web design is not a niche. It is the right way to build for the modern web."

Technical methodology

Code that weighs
what it should weigh

We do not use heavy page builders for websites that do not need them. We do not load 300kB frameworks to style text. Every technical decision has a specific reason and a metric that validates it.

Smart Images

\r\n Up to 70% of a website's weight is made up of poorly exported images.\r\n We export in WebP/AVIF, apply loading="lazy",\r\n srcset\r\n adaptive and we never load unnecessary decorations.\r\n

Surgical CSS and JS

No 200kB frameworks when 12kB written by hand is enough. No plugins that inject 40 scripts to display a carousel. Real cascading CSS, deferred JS, nothing render-blocking.

Aligned infrastructure

The work of the code multiplies with the right hosting. LiteSpeed + Redis on server, Cloudflare CDN, HTTP/3, Brotli compression and 100% renewable energy in every byte transmitted.

Why the approach matters

Sustainable design vs conventional design

It's not an ideological debate — these are technical decisions with measurable consequences on performance, SEO, and consumption.

Technical aspect Conventional web design Sustainable web design — Replant
Page weight 2–5 MB on average Objective < 600 kB

The complete equation

Sustainable web design is also
what comes next

A good initial design is the starting point. The infrastructure and maintenance are what keep it relevant.

Frequently asked questions

What they ask us before starting

Direct answers. If you have any more, write to us.

What exactly is sustainable web design?

Sustainable web design is an approach to development that prioritizes technical efficiency to reduce the energy consumption of each visit. In practice, it involves: clean code without unnecessary dependencies, correctly exported and loaded images, absence of redundant scripts, and hosting on servers with renewable energy. The result is a faster website, with better SEO positioning and a significantly lower carbon footprint. It is not a specialized niche — it is simply good engineering.

How much does a web design with Replanta cost?

It depends on the scope: a landing page starts from €600, a corporate website from €1,200 and a eCommerce WooCommerce from €2,400. More complex projects (web applications, custom plugins) are quoted individually. The initial consultation is free — we analyze your project and provide you with a detailed proposal without obligation.

Do you only work with WordPress?

WordPress and WooCommerce are our main specialties. We also develop custom WordPress plugins and web applications. For projects where WordPress is not the right tool, we say so openly and evaluate the most suitable alternative with you.

How long does it take to develop a website?

A landing page: 1–2 weeks. A corporate website: 3–6 weeks. An eCommerce: 6–12 weeks. We always agree on specific deadlines before starting and formalize them in the budget. During development, you have access to the staging environment and we show progress in agreed phases.

Does the project include hosting?

We can include it. All our projects are optimized for our hosting stack (LiteSpeed + Redis + Cloudflare). If you hire hosting with Replanta, we configure the complete environment at no additional cost and guarantee you the best performance results. We can also deploy on your current hosting if it meets the minimum requirements.

What are Core Web Vitals and why do they matter?

They are Google's web performance metrics that directly affect search engine ranking: LCP (time to load the main element of the page), CLS (visual stability while loading) e INP (response time to user interactions). From 2024 they are an active ranking factor. Our projects consistently aim for LCP < 2.5s, CLS < 0.1 and INP < 200ms.

Can I manage my website myself after delivery?

Yes. We develop in WordPress/Elementor and provide basic content management training. We also provide documentation of the environment so you can update texts, images, and blog entries independently. For more technical operations (plugin updates, hosting configuration changes) we have monthly maintenance plans.

Do you also do post-maintenance?

Yes, and we especially recommend it. We offer monthly WordPress maintenance plans that include secure updates (with prior staging), verified external backups, 24/7 monitoring, and included technical support. Many clients hire web design + hosting + maintenance as a complete package — it’s the combination that yields the best long-term results.
